Can you get smoke and ash residue out of carpet after the fires, or does it need replacing?

It depends on how deep it went. Fine ash and smoke residue settle into the pile first. So we extract more thoroughly, use air movers, and often ask you to run the HVAC while we work. Homes further up the canyons dry noticeably faster. We'll give you a drying window for your specific spot rather than a generic number. We also schedule bluff-side jobs earlier in the day when we can, so the afternoon helps us.

What causes the most wear in Palisades homes?

Grit, mostly. Beach sand tracked in from Will Rogers and Temescal, and decomposed-granite dust off the canyon trails and steep driveways. Both are abrasive. They sink to the base of the pile where vacuuming doesn't reach, so they cut the fibers every time someone walks over.
